2. My sister just texted me to tell me she loves Blair. On Christmas Eve, I got her addicted to Gossip Girl (the show), but she was rooting for lame Dan & Serena. Now she knows what's up and is feeling the Chuck & Blair love. As she should. Has anyone read these books? I've flipped through a couple but haven't really delved into them. Are they as good as the show?
3. In exchange for the first season of Gossip Girl, my sister gave me seasons 1 & 2 of One Tree Hill. This show is by no means as "awesomely awesome" as GG, but they make for good half-watching as I level Aestral (hey, no making fun of my greens).
4. Um, no writing is going on. I know, I know. I suck. I did, on a whim, send my first chapter to Firebrand Literary Agency for their Query Holiday, so I need to finish revising DTY, at the very least. I lack motivation. Is anyone else feeling this slump lately?
5. I didn't get a ton of Barnes and Noble giftcards like Sara, but I did get a copy of New Moon and a book about writing YA fiction, so that was kind of exciting.
OK, I know I need to get my butt to work (or at least butt in chair). Maybe, along with my New Year's resolution to work out for at least half an hour a day and cut out fast food, I should make a writing resolution, NaNoWriMo-style. I will think about it and post my writing goal soon.
Hope you all are having fun in your last few days of 2008!

Ooo, thanks for that Firebrand heads-up! Now to pick the MS to submit...
Hehe, I was tagged, I feel special :)
Ooo I didn't know Firebrand was doing an exciting query-less event! This is big news! And that board game looks like it may become a very very very easy addiction. Must. Not. Purchase...
We played Settlers of Catan for the third evening in a row, Sara! Totally addictive. But it's kind of pricey, at around $40 for the original game. And then if you want expansion packs, it's even more. Good luck on the submissions, guys.
Oh good lord, I love Gossip Girl. I want to dress like them, go to school with them (but be the Queen Bea), play with them, and kiss like them. Best. Show. On TV. My mindless lovely entertainment that very few people get because apparently the ratings suck. It would suck even worse if they cancelled it like Friday Night Lights which was also a guilty pleasure.
Settlers is the BEST GAME EVER! It's one of those games that, once you finish one round you are demanding to play again. "Rematch! Rematch!" Ah, so fun. :)
Also, way to go for entering the Firebrand thing. I actually got a full request from them right before they announced it. I thought to myself, "Looks like it will be a while before they get back to me."
Oh well. Truthfully, i think it is a fabulous idea. Every agency should have such an event.
Friday Night Lights is canceled? Yegads.
Yeah, Renee, we just finished playing 2 more games with the neighbors. I was up for another, but apparently they didn't want to stay up until the wee hours for a fourth night in a row. *shrug*
Maybe I should go grade some stuff, while my adrenaline's still pumping.
